Instructional Software
Instructional software is a software that incorporates all five methods of online teaching including tutorial, drill and practice, simulation, problem solving, and instructional game. An example of an Instructional software would be websites like Brain Pop that have instructional games or tutorials. Websites like these are not only fun and engaging for the students but they are also beneficial for the teacher due to the fact that most of them follow along with the required Georgia Performance Standards. Some websites even come complete with full already written lesson plans. This not only saves the teacher time but also allows him or her to focus on the content and not so much the paperwork that comes along With it. Another thing about Productivity is that it differs from Instructional due to the fact that Productivity creates software where as instructional software covers content and teaches.
Instructional software is becoming a new trend due to increasing amount of Instructional and interactive websites. Teachers are turning to these innovative new sites to help review or help give a intro to a specific subject area. The positive about this is that with all this new software comes a variety of teaching tools to help each individual students learning needs. Today's Instructional Software includes a abundance of different view's and learning concepts including constructivist and objectivist. All of these learning concepts can be very beneficial because once again we are able to meets many different need of different learning styles which ensures no child left behind.

BrainPop is an amazing website that features videos covering a wide range of topics. The videos cover standards for K-5 subjects. Content areas include: Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Arts, Health, Engineering and Technology. Although the main feature of BrainPop is the informational video, BrainPop also includes special activities for the students and a support element for teachers. BrainPop is kid-friendly and highly engaging.
