Now that we have covered Basic
Productivity tools, we can now talk about Beyond the basic productivity
tools. Beyond the Basic productivity tools, or BTB productivity tools, differ
from basic productivity tools in the fact that they are more
interactive, more customized to the individual student, and allow for a overall
more educational experience. BTB Productivty tools go beyond the basic
capabilities of the word processor, spread sheets,
and databases. Examples of BTB Productivity tools include material
generators, data collection and analysis tools, graphic tools, planning and
organizing tools, research and reference tools, and content-area
tools. Examples of how these tools are used are lesson planning software
and electronic encyclopedias.
BTB Productivity tools support student learning with their user friendly lesson plans and higher order thinking software tools. The creative aspects of BTB tools can also aid in creating a higher LoTi score within a classroom. These vital software tools make it especially useful within the schools. Although these tools are so useful, they are highly underutilized within classrooms. Some teachers feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the tools and fail to give the software a chance but thanks to increase in mobile app popularity, BTB Productivity tools are becoming more accessible with easier user friendly tools. Hopefully with time, these promising software concepts will continue to grow and expand among the educational community.
Feel free to look at my example of a lesson plan centered around a BTB Productivity tool software. The software Kidspiration is an excellent tool to any lesson.
